About the Role

The SFU School of Medicine seeks a visionary Director of Operations to oversee daily operations and drive strategic goals. This role ensures operational efficiency, productivity, and alignment with the School's values, mission, and vision. The Director will lead the development and implementation of standardized procedures, key performance indicators (KPIs), and best practices while fostering a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include managing the administrative workforce, mentoring staff, and leading change initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational performance. The Director will work closely with senior leaders, faculty, and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and optimize processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, and employee management.
  • Plan and manage operational processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in business management software, such as SAP, ERP, and CRM.

Requirements

  1. A Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  2. Over 10 years of senior leadership experience in operational management, preferably in a higher education setting.
  3. Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams through complex changes.
  4. Strong expertise in data analysis, performance metrics, and process improvement.
