About the Role

CIBC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Relationship Manager to join our Indigenous Markets team. As a key member of our commercial banking team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous clients, driving business growth, and delivering a broad range of financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with Indigenous commercial clients, providing exceptional service and advocacy within the Bank.
  • Proactively engage with internal partners, prospects, and clients to expand CIBC's presence and awareness of Indigenous communities and businesses.
  • Monitor and manage the profitability of CIBC's relationships with Indigenous clients, ensuring a long-term mutually beneficial partnership.
  • Originate new client relationships, leveraging knowledge and expertise to grow the Indigenous Banking business and CIBC's overall Indigenous portfolio.
  • Ensure a one-team approach by presenting solutions that address every aspect of the Indigenous client's relationship with CIBC.
  • Accountable for client retention, conducting annual relationship reviews and supporting Net Promoter Score activities.
  • Proactively assess client needs and propose products/solutions to meet those needs and the client's broader business objectives.
  • Manage credit risk, credit expiries, and the credit application process, ensuring a thorough understanding of the client's business and risk ratings.
  • Identify and mitigate risk, taking necessary steps to protect the Bank's position.
  • Manage all dealings internally and with clients in a manner consistent with CIBC policies and procedures.
  • Continuously identify and pursue personal development related to the role, sharing learning within the business.
  • Act as a mentor and/or provide guidance to Managers, Associates, and other support staff.
