Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective preparation and dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications
  • Operate point of sale systems and manage inventory
  • Work with Kroll and other third-party billing systems
  • Handle cytotoxic medications and maintain accurate records
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication skills
Requirements:
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Graduated from a Pharmacy Technician Program at a recognized or accredited private or community college
  • 3-5 years experience in retail setting, with preference to retail oncology setting
  • Experience in working with Kroll, third-party billings, point of sale systems, Mosaiq and Meditech
  • Knowledge of Cancer Care Ontario care plans and funding an asset
