Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Coordinator to join our team at Bluewater Health.

About the Role:

This is a temporary full-time position that will be responsible for managing inventory levels, processing orders, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Store and issue materials, supplies, equipment, and linen
  • Take inventories and recommend modifications to quotas
  • Compile stock records related to the operating room
  • Unpack and inspect items for damage or defects
  • Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items
  • Record or report discrepancies or damage in shipment
  • Carry or convey items using a hand truck
  • Take physical counts of stock on hand and verify count with inventory control totals
  • Use computerized inventory system
  • Receive requests for supplies, select stock inventory, and distribute supplies to designated areas
  • Communicate regularly with Mohawk Medbuy
  • Follow up on back-ordered items and discuss substitutions with OR Manager

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary program preferred
  • Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the position required
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques required
  • Experience with ORMED software preferred
  • Hospital supply inventory experience preferred
  • Warehousing experience preferred
  • Shipping and Receiving experience preferred
  • Experience using a handheld bar code scanner preferred
  • Recent experience in a related position requiring adherence to strict timelines and meeting conflicting demands preferred

Salary: $26.11 - $27.55 per hour (starting salary), increasing to $26.81 after one year and $27.55 after two years.

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy.
