About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Livestock Farming Assistant to join our team at HyLife Foods LP. This is a permanent, full-time position with an estimated annual salary of $43,000 - $53,000.

Job Description

The successful candidate will assist in the daily operations of our hog and pig farming facility, ensuring the health and well-being of the animals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Clearing and collecting brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
  • Developing plans to prioritize tasks and optimize farm productivity
  • Disinfecting pens, barns, or poultry houses to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Handling animals safely and humanely
  • Monitoring animal health and reporting any concerns to management
  • Feeding and tending to the animals, including cleaning stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Maintaining quality control and production records
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • 1-7 months of experience in agricultural livestock service or a related field
  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment
