Job Title: Sr Manager Customs Compliance

TEEMA is seeking an experienced Sr Manager Customs Compliance to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing customs compliance across multiple business units, including establishing and maintaining customs compliance procedures, reviewing import and export customs filings for accuracy, and conducting regular audits and self-audits.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Canadian Customs and experience with customs brokers, Free Trade Agreement qualification, FIRMS Data evaluation, and Customs Special Procedures. They will also possess excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to collect, structure, and communicate information to implement processes to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain customs compliance procedures and program documentation.
  • Review import and export customs filings for accuracy and compliance with customs regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and self-audits.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for functional area.
  • Manage adherence to prescribed customs procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from university in a related field.
  • 10-15 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian Customs and experience with customs brokers.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge of regulations to business transactions.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. ITAR & EAR, Canadian import and export laws and regulations.
