Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technologist to join our team at CSA Group. As a Senior Technologist, you will be responsible for performing technical evaluations of non-certified equipment and ensuring that products meet technical requirements and are free of potential fire and shock hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical evaluations of non-certified equipment within your area of expertise.
  • Ensure product meets technical requirements and is free of potential fire and shock hazards.
  • Communicate with clients in a professional manner to schedule inspection appointments, review costing procedures, answer questions, and provide technical information service and direction.
  • Document technical reports for required alterations to sub-standard equipment.
  • Conduct research on technical and procedural issues, including technical research on standards and guidelines.
  • Provide training to less experienced Special Inspection Representatives.
  • Participate on the SI Technical Committee.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Sciences with 6 years industry-related experience.
  • Engineering Technology or Associates Degree with 8 years industry-related experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician with 6 years industry-related experience.
  • Related technical field with 10+ years industry-related experience.
  • Certification/Lab Testing experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple inspection files and changing schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter, good decision-making skills, and organizational skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer skills (word processing, e-mail).
  • Usage of calibrated measurement instruments, high voltage test equipment, hand tools.
