Job Title: Senior Technologist - Quality Assurance

Sinai Health is a leading academic health science centre with a strong commitment to quality and excellence. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technologist to lead our Quality Assurance program and ensure the highest standards of quality in our clinical microbiology department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a quality management program that meets all accreditation and licensing requirements.
  • Coordinate the review and maintenance of laboratory manuals and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on quality assurance and accreditation activities.
  • Supervise the Quality Control bench technologist and provide training as required.
  • Coordinate Quality Assurance Committee meetings and prepare agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Lead the Quality Improvement Team to identify quality indicators and perform audits.
  • Participate in inter-departmental and external quality management teams and compile quality reports.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario in microbiology.
  • Evidence of progressive professional development, including additional degrees, certifications, or credentials.
  • A minimum of 5 years' recent experience in a clinical microbiology department.
  • Experience with regulatory assessments, operational document writing, and document control processes.
  • Strong initiative, project management, and time management skills.
  • Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office software and Soft LIS.
  • Proven skills in data mining, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, team building, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to coach and direct staff.
