Job Summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a highly skilled Taxation Manager to join our team in Toronto or Vancouver. As a key member of our tax practice, you will be responsible for managing tax engagements, providing expert advice to clients, and contributing to the growth of the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate tax planning and compliance services for individuals requiring US and Canadian income or estate tax filings.
  • Work closely with Tax Partners and other Senior staff on personal tax compliance and tax advisory engagements.
  • Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and project budgets.
  • Review assessments and correspond with the IRS, state authorities, and CRA on various issues.
  • Build and manage client relationships at a senior level; advise clients by delivering high-quality tax service and advice.
  • Actively mentor and coach staff to their highest potential.
  • Support and mentor firm staff in respect of tax matters.
  • Identify client service opportunities.

Requirements

We are looking for an individual who is committed to a career in taxation and has the desire to take a lead role in managing tax engagements and contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience in tax and succession planning areas, including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and cross-border investment and compliance.
