Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager, Assurance to join our team in St. Catharines. As a key member of our Assurance team, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and amending engagement documents, including working papers, financial statements, and tax returns;
  • Providing constructive feedback and guidance to staff on engagement files;
  • Engaging in business development and networking opportunities with clients and referral sources;
  • Attending client meetings and contributing to discussions;
  • Identifying planning opportunities for clients;
  • Ensuring all queries and outstanding points are resolved satisfactorily;
  • Assisting with client billing and delegating tasks to junior staff members;
  • Coaching and developing staff through performance evaluations and support.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A graduate degree in accounting or equivalent;
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation;
  • 2-5 years of post-designation experience in a public accounting firm;
  • Experience in an oversight role, with a thorough understanding of GAAP/GAAS, ASPE, CAS, and CIS, as well as Canadian taxation.
