The Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a restaurant, ensuring that food and service meet quality control standards. This includes supervising and co-ordinating activities of staff who prepare and portion food, training staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, and estimating ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
  • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
  • Hire food service staff
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Establish work schedules

This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of 5-10 people. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and a physically demanding workload. They must also possess excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff alike.

Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a food service role
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

The salary for this position is estimated to be $40,000-$50,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
