Claims Assistant Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Claims Assistant to join our team in Toronto. As a Claims Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our claims processing team by setting up new claims, preparing notices of loss, and communicating with insureds and adjusters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up new claims by determining the appropriate policy and preparing the notice of loss.
  • Correspond with insureds regarding the status of their claims.
  • Maintain accurate records of claims information via EPIC/LEO document filing software.
  • Prepare letters to insureds and send checks as required.
  • Request or process various payments.

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of experience in the insurance industry is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
