**Job Title:** Senior Accounting Manager

At CAPREIT Apartments, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Accounting division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the accounting team in the preparation and maintenance of accurate and complete accounting records.

The Senior Accounting Manager will play a key role in managing various accounting processes, including data integrity, consolidation of records, and documentation of accounting policies and principles. This individual will also provide training to accounting teams on new procedures and policies, as well as conduct regular meetings to promote best practices in business and system processes.

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of IFRS. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience and hold a CPA designation or be close to completion.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Manage certain accounting processes and ensure data integrity of accounting records
  • Consolidate accounting records for preparation of summarized reports, including intercompany transactions, elimination, and foreign currency translation
  • Assist in the documentation & implementation of accounting policies and principles which may affect the SAP system or others
  • Train accounting teams on any new accounting procedure or policy change
  • Conduct regular meetings to promote two-way communication of best practices in business and system processes

**Special Projects:**

  • Continuous review of business processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ad hoc tasks as requested by senior management

**Qualifications:**

  • CMA or equivalent designation
  • 3-5 years relevant accounting experience
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS applicable to area of responsibility
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
