Propak Energy Services is a leading provider of engineering, fabrication, and construction services for the energy industry. With 45 years of experience, our company has established itself as an expert in gas compression and processing facilities.

We are currently seeking a Compression Service Mechanic (Journeyman Millwright/Heavy Duty Mechanic) to join our team. This individual will be responsible for providing service, maintenance, and repair work on gas compressors and engines in gas plants and adjacent field facilities.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of gas compression packages, including panels, controls, instrumentation, and package operation. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot engine compressor problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize equipment run times based on knowledge of gas compression packages and component life cycles;
  • Interpret flow sheets and drawings to ensure accurate repairs and maintenance;
  • Demonstrate expertise in mounting and alignment, commissioning, package operations, mechanical components, instrumentation, and electronics;
  • Perform startups, servicing, repairs, overhauls, warranty work, and other tasks often alone in remote locations;
  • Diagnose and trouble shoot engine compressor problems;
  • Verify all proper settings and adjustments;
  • Judge priorities on unit repairs in terms of downtime, customer importance, potential losses, and efficient working methods;
  • Provide exceptional customer service;
  • Maintain documentation of mechanical services, labor time entry, expenses, parts orders, and complete and submit paperwork related to startups, servicing, warranty work, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification;
  • 3+ years' experience with Waukesha, Caterpillar, and natural gas driven compression;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Excellent administration, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize;
  • Ability to work in remote locations without supervision;
  • Experience with new package commissioning is an asset;
  • Strong skills with the Microsoft Office suite of programs;
  • Flexibility for 25–50% overnight travel.

Compensation: We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.
