As a Mobile Heavy Duty Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing OEM class 6,7, and 8 vehicles in the field. You will also be required to test systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years' experience. Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician or Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) certification is required. Additionally, the candidate must have a Class 5 driver's license and be able to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift. Experience in time management and Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus. The compensation package includes a competitive base hourly wage of $54/hr, shift premiums and overtime pay, accrued vacation time, comprehensive benefit package, employer RRSP matching plan, generous annual tool and boot allowance, and employer-paid technical training as required. If you are a meticulous individual who is both computer savvy and likes to keep things organized, and enjoy providing support for external clients, then this Mobile Technician job is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate service truck in remote or customer worksites.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain OEM class 6,7, and 8 vehicles in the field.
  • Test systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
  • Ensure professional quality detail and craftsmanship. Maintain efficient and accurate workmanship in a safe and professional environment.
  • Implement workflow procedures and continuous improvement initiatives for the department.

Requirements:

  • Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician or Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) certification.
  • Heavy Truck and Trailer subject matter expert.
  • Initiative-taker able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment.
  • Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.
  • Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided).
  • Experience in time management.
  • Class 5 driver's license.
  • Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus.
