About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Clinical Procurement Specialist to join our team at Innovaderm. As a key member of our Vendor Management Office, you will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and qualifying suppliers and vendors to meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors to ensure they meet our business requirements
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing for services and/or supplies
  • Perform vendor annual risk assessments and market research to inform vendor selection
  • Develop and implement best practices in supplier and vendor selection, cost containment, and management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity of specifications for suppliers and vendors
  • Negotiate with vendors to reduce costs and improve value
  • Participate in business development activities, including RFPs and proposal development
  • Forecast supply and service needs and identify new strategic opportunities
  • Organize and standardize vendor data to facilitate fair and transparent decision-making
  • Ensure procurement policy compliance and review legacy information to inform existing vendor partnerships
  • Lead vendor performance review and risk evaluations
  • Develop strategies for optimization of timelines and costs across projects
  • Oversee vendor relationship health and vendor performance across our roster of projects
Requirements
  • Minimum + years of progressive experience in a Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and/or CRO industry with experience in contracting, procurement, and supply chain management
  • APICS, CSCMP, PMP certifications or equivalent are considered assets
  • Expertise in the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process, including RFI, RFP, contract negotiation, and management
  • Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and opportunities for workflow automation
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, along with the proven ability to mediate and negotiate well
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strong analytical mindset
  • Excellent business judgment and savvy with a proven ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Good knowledge of good clinical practices, and applicable Health Canada, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations/guidelines as well as European Union (EU) pharmaceutical legislation for the Clinical Trials Regulation (CTR)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
