The University of Victoria is seeking a highly skilled Research Systems Dev-Ops Analyst to join our team. This role will work closely with the Manager and Architect, ARC Infrastructure, to design, build, and ensure the operational effectiveness of the university's research servers and storage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine and resolve client and systems generated technical issues
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software
- Resolve problems, allocate resources, monitor performance and security, and generate reports
Specialized Skills:
- Expertise in storage technologies such as Ceph, dCache, GPFS, Lustre, and IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM)
- Proficiency in deployment technologies like xCAT, Cobbler, Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform
- Familiarity with compute/virtualization technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, HPC Schedulers like SLURM, HTCondor, Moab, and Systems Monitoring
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline
- At least three years of experience in system administration with Linux
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn complex technical concepts
