About the Role

As a Community Health Nurse with the First Nations Health Authority, you will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care for First Nations individuals, families, and communities. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care to First Nations individuals, families, and communities
  • Work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs and services
  • Collaborate with community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to improve health outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Working towards or are Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM is preferred
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license
  • Understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
  • Knowledge of nursing processes
