About Us

The First Nations Health Authority is a leading health organization that partners with BC First Nations to improve health outcomes. We are seeking a skilled Community Health Nurse to join our team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work in an expanded scope of practice to provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care for First Nations individuals, families, and communities. This role requires strong nursing skills, cultural competence, and the ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care, public health, health promotion, and emergency care to First Nations individuals, families, and communities
  • Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Develop and implement health programs and services that meet the needs of First Nations communities
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community organizations to improve health outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Must be or working towards Remote certified (RNC) with BCCNM
  • Current CPR course for Health Care Providers (HCP)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license
  • Understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols
  • Knowledge of nursing processes
