Morrison Hershfield, now Stantec, is a leading provider of infrastructure consulting services. We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Administrator to join our Field Services team in the Windsor area.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of construction administration services with the Ministry of Transportation. This position offers opportunities for growth and development in technical and professional areas, as well as project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medium to large contracts, ensuring work proceeds according to plans, procedures, and contract specifications.
  • Supervise a work group and ensure quality work is delivered.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspect contractor's work, and compile field data for review.
  • Prepare contract specifications, construction staging, and traffic arrangement schemes.
  • Assess scope of work, monitor staff levels, and manage the construction budget.
  • Address contractor questions and misconceptions, and keep track of contractor activities.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/Technician.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Road and/or Heavy Construction.
  • Demonstrated Construction Administration experience as a Contract Administrator or equivalent.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with PEO or as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T. with Road Construction Contract Administration (RCCA) designation.
  • Prior MTO T131 and T131A Advanced Claims Dispute Resolution training is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS), Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (OPSD), Contract Documents including Agreement, General Conditions of Contracts, and Special Provisions.
  • Knowledge of construction survey and layout, construction methods and materials, and relevant legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Environmental Protection Act.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access) and MS Project or Primavera.
