Job Summary:

As a key member of the HSB Canada team, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing the cash collection of a group of brokers and client companies. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage cash collection from brokers and client companies
- Monitor and record receipts, ensuring timely resolution of any cash application issues
- Generate monthly aging reports and distribute accordingly
- Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations

Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

- Review purchase documentation for completeness and compliance with policies and procedures
- Process disbursements for vendors, suppliers, and other external parties
- Monitor account statements and address inquiries and discrepancies with business units and vendors
- Match purchase orders with supplier invoices, verify pricing and quantities against receiving information
- Prepare monthly accruals and other journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and financial analysis for AP and other applicable accounts
- Manage weekly disbursements (payments by cheque, wire transfer, and ACH)
- Review and post supplier invoices in the accounting system daily

Requirements:

- 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable, or equivalent
- Proficient in MS Excel with advanced knowledge of formulas and functions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organized with ability to work independently, escalate issues when necessary, and proactively identify potential processing delays
- Ability to deal with individuals at all levels in an organization with professionalism and efficiency
