Altis Recruitment is seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team. As a Strategic Communications Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our federal government client on a project that involves optimizing hundreds of pages of web content.

This project focuses on developing a comprehensive content strategy that incorporates web content optimization, information architecture placement, and the curation of redundant, outdated, and trivial content (ROT). The successful candidate will also be responsible for planning, researching, and inventory management for web assets and related content for Canada.ca.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital communications products targeting Canadian businesses and specialized audiences, including web content pages, reports, event pages, and campaign pages rewritten in plain language to reflect the targeted audience's readability level.
  • An up-to-date website inventory that tracks updates and changes, which can be used in conjunction with existing guidance, analytics, and research to inform decision-making.
  • Providing guidance on aligning new and existing content to the Canada.ca design system, the Guideline on Making Information Technology Usable by All, the Harmonized European Standard (EN 301 549), and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (French & English)
  • Active Federal Secret Clearance
  • Five years of experience writing plain language and creating content for the web.
  • Five years of experience making recommendations based on web product inventories, existing guidance, analytics, and research.
  • Eight years of experience with writing Canada.ca Content Style Guide
  • Five years of experience using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
