Job Summary:

Altus Group Limited/Groupe Altus Limitée is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to join our Development Advisory Team in Calgary. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the management team to deliver cost consulting services to clients across various asset types and accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to a team of consultants to deliver cost consulting services efficiently, including client delivery, revenue management, business development, and technical expertise.
  • Lead the consultant team and provide direction, leadership, coaching, and mentoring to ensure workforce competency and adherence to Altus Group's policies.
  • Act as primary contact for all client communications on projects, maintaining ongoing client communication and resolving issues expeditiously.
  • SOURCE NEW CLIENTS/BUSINESS AND DEVELOP AND BUILD LONG-TERM CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS TO GROW REVENUES THROUGH REPEAT BUSINESS AND REFERRALS.
  • Prepare Fee Proposals in response to client requests/RFPs with an ongoing understanding of current market for Cost Planning services.
  • Ensure internal billing memos are accurate and issued on a timely basis to support preparation of Invoices to clients, including follow-up with clients on overdue invoices.

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Technical Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Sciences, Construction, Quantity Surveying, or related fields.
  • Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) per CIQS, Construction Estimator Certified (CEC) per CIQS, or Member RICS (MRICS).
  • 10+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, construction, or project management or related field, and minimum 5 years of leadership experience in Construction Consulting or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of the local construction industry, public and private owners, general contractors, sub-trades, contracts, Lien Acts, pricing, estimating methods of measurement, etc.
  • Full and deep understanding of Quantity Surveying/Cost Planning services.
  • Proficient in using MS Office, CostX, Estate Master.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and work ethics.
  • Proven strategic thinking, analytical skills, and strong business acumen, with a focus on business development.
