Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Residential Counsellor to join our team at the Youth Justice Residence. As a Residential Counsellor, you will provide support and guidance to youth in detention, helping them to develop life skills, address underlying issues, and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support and guidance to youth in detention, helping them to develop life skills and address underlying issues.
- Facilitate group sessions and activities to promote social skills, community engagement, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with community partners and referral sources to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Administer and maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in the Social Services field, with a focus on youth justice or a related field.
- Valid First Aid and CPI certifications.
- At least one year of recent work experience in a related field, with a focus on youth justice, community outreach, and group facilitation.
- Strong knowledge of the Social and Criminal Justice systems, as well as community resources and services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
