Job Title: Full Time Residential Counsellor, Prime Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counsellor to join our team at Broadview Village, a leading provider of support services for adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality support and care to our residents, promoting their independence, and facilitating their integration into the community. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and a passion for working with individuals with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote residents' personal growth and development.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to residents, addressing their mental health and well-being needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of resident information, including medical and financial data.
  • Participate in community outings and activities to promote social integration and independence.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Residential Manager.
Requirements:
  • Completed 2-3 year Developmental Services Worker Diploma or equivalent degree/diploma in human services.
  • Valid and current Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Level C Certificate.
  • Ability to achieve Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certificate and use it in practice.
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and a current copy of a Driver's abstract.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
  • Experience with writing and implementing individual support plans.
  • Medication administration experience preferred.
