Meat Cutter Trainee

Metro is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Cutter Trainee to join our team. As a Meat Cutter Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of meat products in our stores.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the receiving, cutting, and preparation of beef, veal, lamb, bulk/tray pack chicken, and processed meats.
- Ensure the quality of meat and cuts comply with Company standards.
- Prepare meat on trays according to specifications in preparation for wrapping.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, adhering to Company protocols and standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Travel may be required to various Metro locations for training and other business purposes.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong initiative and interpersonal skills, with a high regard for Health and Safety and overall cleanliness.
- Food safety training and previous relevant experience would be an asset.
- Physical manual labor required, including heavy lifting, working in a cold environment, and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with and compliance with our Company Health and Safety Policies.
- Flexibility to work a combination of shifts, including days, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

- Training at several Metro locations by experienced and qualified meat cutters.
