Job Description:

The House of Commons Administration is seeking a skilled Transportation Coordinator to join their team in Ottawa, Canada. This role will be responsible for providing transportation services to Members of Parliament, Senators, and other authorized users.

In this position, you will drive buses and trucks, including cargo vans, to transport items such as heritage furniture and classified documents between locations on the Hill and throughout the National Capital Region. You will also be required to perform daily vehicle inspections and complete associated reports according to Ministry of Transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive buses and trucks, including cargo vans, to transport passengers and goods
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and complete associated reports
  • Comply with safety and security policies and procedures set by the House of Commons and transportation authorities
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require a secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Additionally, you must have a valid driver's license (classes D and F with Z endorsement or class 3 with endorsements F and M) and at least three years of experience driving a 5-ton truck or bus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ambitious candidates may possess experience working with high-profile clients, driving trucks and/or cargo vans, and safely operating electric hydraulic powered lifting devices. Knowledge of Ontario and Quebec transportation regulations and procedures would also be beneficial.
