As a key member of the Newmont Musselwhite team, the Superintendent - Maintenance Planning & Reliability will lead a team of planners/coordinators responsible for maximizing asset availability through reliability improvement and maintenance planning processes. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and best practices in equipment maintenance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to optimize equipment downtime and resource utilization.
  • Lead a team of planners/coordinators to ensure compliance with all Newmont and Musselwhite Health and Safety policies and the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely delivery of required components.
  • Develop life cycle cost models for critical assets and critical fleet types to optimize life cycle costs and improve equipment reliability.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the planning and reliability team, including reviewing complex work, providing direction, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and assessing performance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years mining experience focused on mobile fleet and fixed plant, with 5 years at similar work level.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental standards, and best practices in equipment maintenance and reliability.
  • Demonstrated experience improving reliability, maintenance planning, materials management, budgeting, and long-term asset integrity management.
  • Competent in equipment strategy development and improvement using RCM methods, life cycle costing, root cause analysis (RCA), and defect elimination processes.
  • Competent in condition monitoring techniques and data interpretation, including oil condition, thermography, vibration analysis, NDT, and thickness testing.
  • Good knowledge in SAP and Microsoft Office suite applications.
