Opportunity Overview

Aecon, a leading market player with self-perform capabilities, is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join the Gordie Howe - Bridging North America Project in Windsor, Ontario.

The successful candidate will support the project's Asset Information Requirement, implementing the Asset Information Management (AIM) strategy, and ensuring the smooth transfer of information models to the client during project close-out.

Key responsibilities include managing asset data in a federated BIM model, maintaining graphic and non-graphic data, and ensuring data completeness, correctness, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a federated model for project infrastructure in coordination with designers and subcontractors.
  • Manage 3D/2D model data, including planning documentation, asset data sheets, equipment lists, and asset tracking.
  • Establish and maintain the area Model Breakdown Structure, ensuring model federation aligns with the Project Brief and Asset Information Requirement.
  • Collaborate with designers and subcontractors to manage data effectively, feeding geometric models, non-geometric data, documents, and stakeholder inputs into the Asset database.
  • Assist project teams with model interoperability between internal and external design disciplines.
  • Develop a schedule and coordinate with subcontractors for uploading their respective BIM and asset data to the master Asset database.
  • Update and manage Revit attributes according to Asset data attribute configurations.
  • Track, monitor, and communicate the latest design and equipment changes and update the Asset database.
  • Prepare and process external data sets (e.g., Excel sheets) for uploading onto BIM databases and inputting data into the Asset database.
  • Manage data output format for use with other software, such as FMS, Aconex, and required database interfacing.
  • Enforce standard practices and procedures for integrating and flowing data.
  • Work with ISO19650 to manage and collect data through design, construction, and turnover.
