About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist - CNC Specialist to join our team at OmniCoil Spring Works Inc. in a permanent position. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machine tools to produce high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to ensure accurate production.
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and parts to optimize production efficiency.
  • Set up and adjust production machinery/tools to meet quality and production standards.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances to ensure quality control.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality products.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Visually inspect products for quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment to ensure efficient production.
  • Select and transport material to the work area manually or using a crane or hoist.
  • Review work orders to determine job specifications and requirements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Enter codes specifying speed, feed, and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
  • Move products using a forklift, crane, or hydraulic hoist.
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
  • Program CNC machine tools to optimize production efficiency.
  • Set up equipment for scheduled production to meet quality and production standards.
  • Determine materials required for production to ensure efficient use of resources.
Requirements
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production requirements and priorities.
