Forensic Analytical Toxicology Professor Position

About the Position
The University of Toronto Mississauga's Forensic Science Program invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Forensic Analytical Toxicology. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.

Applicants must have earned a PhD degree in Chemistry or Toxicology, with an emphasis on bench-based analytical chemistry, forensic toxicology or a related area, and a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
The successful applicant must have demonstrated expertise in the field of Analytical Toxicology and a proven track record of professional practice activities. Experience working in a forensic laboratory or as an independent forensic consultant is preferred.
Candidates should also indicate any knowledge of Quality Assurance protocols and accreditation processes for forensic labs. Teaching expertise in a degree-granting program at the undergraduate level is required.

Candidates will have an established international reputation and will be expected to sustain and lead innovative independent research, and to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally-funded research program.
Cross-appointment at the graduate level to a relevant department will be pursued upon hiring.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and teaching in Forensic Analytical Toxicology
- Develop and maintain an externally-funded research program
- Teach undergraduate courses in Forensic Science
- Contribute to the development of the Forensic Science Program
Requirements
- PhD degree in Chemistry or Toxicology
- Demonstrated expertise in Analytical Toxicology
- Proven track record of professional practice activities
- Teaching expertise in a degree-granting program at the undergraduate level
