We are seeking a Heritage Permit Coordinator to join our team at Musqueam.

Musqueam is a strong, growing community of over 1,300 members. We live on a small portion of our traditional territory, known as the Musqueam Indian Reserve, located near the mouth of the Fraser River. Our lands and waters continue to support our cultural and economic practices while serving as a source of knowledge and memory, encoded with our teachings and laws.

 

Job Description:

The Heritage Permit Coordinator will work closely with the Musqueam Indian Band (MIB) archaeological and broader Intergovernmental Affairs team to ensure the respectful management of Musqueam heritage resources. Key responsibilities include learning about archaeological processes, reviewing HCA permit applications, issuing responses, and tracking permit requirements and obligation fulfillment.

 

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have an Archeology degree and/or CRM experience, as well as computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat. Cultural competency and knowledge of the Musqueam's cultural traditions are also assets.

 

Benefits:
