Estimator for Building Construction Projects

VIVID 1 CONCEPTS LTD is seeking a skilled Estimator for Building Construction Projects to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for building construction projects. Your expertise will help us make informed decisions and ensure the success of our projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, with experience in preparing estimates for general expenses and overheads. You will also be responsible for advising on tendering procedures, analyzing tenders, and recommending awards. Additionally, you will set up cost monitoring and reporting systems, monitor and adjust contract expenditures, and prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, who can liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. If you have a strong understanding of construction estimating principles and practices, and are able to work in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Advise on tendering procedures
  • Analyze tenders and recommend awards
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates

  • Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors
