Job Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing facilities maintenance and repairs to buildings and equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform corrective, reactive, and preventative maintenance of facilities buildings, equipment, and installations, as well as repairs and other project work.
  • Coordinate with Lead Hand Electrician, Facilities Supervisor, contractors, other CN departments, and vendors for assistance or direction as required for various types of work.
  • Work in a variety of conditions, including inside and outside, and at heights, confined spaces, and other areas where work is required.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees and contractors, and be safety conscious at all times.
  • Work away from home for extended periods and be available to work overtime when necessary.
Requirements
  • Hold an Inter-Provincial Red Seal Electrician Certificate.
  • Have a valid or be willing to acquire a Manitoba Driver's License (Class 3).
  • Be able to read and understand electrical drawings for various types of repair work, maintenance, project work, and troubleshooting.
  • Have a good working knowledge of power distribution and emergency power systems, including high voltage.
Training

The Electrical Maintenance Specialist must complete all training sessions as directed by the company. A successful completion of this training is essential for future performance of duties.

This position is a unionized position, and pay and benefits are governed by the applicable collective agreement.
