Job Overview

At Royal Bank of Canada, we are seeking a talented Global Procurement Sourcing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational activities of our business units.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual who can develop a comprehensive understanding of RBC spend for multiple categories, build in-depth supplier management knowledge, and provide valuable support and guidance to our business units with supplier management activities.

The successful candidate will assist the procurement team and businesses in the acquisition of goods and services, develop performance-related metrics to measure and report on RBC, supplier, and sourcing effectiveness, evaluate potential cost savings resulting from contract reviews, and mitigate risk by educating our business units on the supplier management process.

In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end sourcing processes for assigned categories, including ensuring established policies and practices are adhered to in the sourcing process, sourcing suppliers offering the best combination of price, service, and quality, identifying working groups and oversight boards to ensure representation from key stakeholders and impacted lines of business, and ensuring implementation plans for transition of selected suppliers.

Requirements
  • A Canadian post-secondary institution student focusing on Supply Chain, Procurement, Law, Business Administration, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent storytelling skills.
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook).
  • Ability to complete projects on time, with accuracy, and making the most effective use of available time.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail.
