Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer PositionDescriptionThis role involves ensuring the stability, security, and performance of public safety and critical 911 voice networks. As a telecommunications engineer, you will provide second-level network support, troubleshoot advanced network issues, perform proactive maintenance, and document network activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Network Administration: Monitor and maintain system health, ensure regular backups are performed on all network equipment.
- Network Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor network performance, proactively address issues, and conduct tuning to align with service agreements.
- Configuration & Maintenance: Analyze, configure, and resolve network-related issues to ensure network responsiveness, efficiency, and stability.
- Incident & Problem Management: Provide second-level support, perform incident diagnosis and root cause analysis on system performance issues.
- Technology & Best Practice Awareness: Stay current with evolving network technologies, best practices, security threats, and protection mechanisms.
- Documentation & Communication: Prepare and maintain technical documents and records, effectively communicate technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required.
- In-depth knowledge of network technologies and standards, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, encryption, routing protocols, high availability protocols, and virtualization technologies.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot complex network issues, perform testing, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
