Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer PositionDescription

This role involves ensuring the stability, security, and performance of public safety and critical 911 voice networks. As a telecommunications engineer, you will provide second-level network support, troubleshoot advanced network issues, perform proactive maintenance, and document network activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Administration: Monitor and maintain system health, ensure regular backups are performed on all network equipment.
  • Network Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor network performance, proactively address issues, and conduct tuning to align with service agreements.
  • Configuration & Maintenance: Analyze, configure, and resolve network-related issues to ensure network responsiveness, efficiency, and stability.
  • Incident & Problem Management: Provide second-level support, perform incident diagnosis and root cause analysis on system performance issues.
  • Technology & Best Practice Awareness: Stay current with evolving network technologies, best practices, security threats, and protection mechanisms.
  • Documentation & Communication: Prepare and maintain technical documents and records, effectively communicate technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of network technologies and standards, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, encryption, routing protocols, high availability protocols, and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot complex network issues, perform testing, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
