Director of Experience Design Architecture

We are seeking a seasoned experience design leader to join our Product Design team. This role is available to candidates across Canada and the US, with a preference for local candidates in our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto). The ideal candidate will be expected to be in office at least once a week on our designated Anchor Day.

We're looking for a strategic thinker who can craft 3-5 year experience design strategies that establish a northstar, guiding our roadmaps and designs to capitalize on near-term impact while incrementally delivering toward our longer-term objectives. The ideal candidate will be a solution-oriented strategist and a systems-thinker through and through, motivated by uncovering and solving wicked hard problems, passionate about inspiring and provoking customer-centered innovation.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead multi-year, high-impact experience design strategies across a complex portfolio of products and personas.
- Create northstar artifacts that inspire and provoke customer-focused roadmaps and designs, aligning short-term work to longer-term impact.
- Craft strategic frameworks for high-priority, cross-cutting customer workflows (e.g., onboarding).
- Partner cross-functionally to understand and align customer and business goals, influencing product strategy.
- Partner with technology leaders to ensure alignment of technical and experience strategy and architecture.
- Build architecture skills across the design organization.
- Help drive clarity and alignment across design efforts, across initiative and product boundaries.
- Contribute to frameworks for assessing and scaling design quality.
- Contribute to process and operations to mature and scale design.
- Initiate an experience architecture team as the design organization scales.
- Demonstrated expertise in experience design architecture.
- Expertise delivering clear, connected experiences across product and persona boundaries.
- Business acumen and ability to connect design strategy to business value.
- Ability to communicate complex subjects with clarity and impact to a variety of audiences.
- Strong leadership, partnering, and influencing skills.
- Ability to create solutions that scale across short and long-term customer and business goals simultaneously.
- High level of comfort working within a self-directed culture and navigating ambiguity.
- Deep desire to help everyone (customers, stakeholders, and employees) do their best possible work.
What We Offer:
Clio provides a comprehensive Total Rewards Program, including competitive, equitable salary with top-tier health benefits, dental, and vision insurance. We offer a hybrid work environment, with a preference for local candidates to be in office at least once a week on our designated Anchor Day. Our flexible time off policy includes an encouraged 20 days off per year, and we offer RRSP matching and RESP contribution. Clioversary recognition program with special acknowledgement at 3, 5, 7, and 10 years.
The full salary range for this role is $196,000 to $245,000 to $294,000 CAD. In addition, this role is eligible for variable pay based on company performance, with actual payout amounts calculated and paid on a quarterly basis. We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range.
