The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by designing, specifying, purchasing, and constructing electrical automation systems and components.

This role involves project management, technical specification, design, analysis, installation management, equipment start-up, and manufacturing.

We are looking for a skilled candidate who can assist management with pre-studies to define effective solutions.

The successful applicant will execute mechanical design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment, and lead the installation, commissioning, and start-up of the equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Developing detailed mechanical designs for process equipment;
  • Providing technical expertise in design, maintenance, modification, and installation of equipment and machinery;
  • Developing mechanical design packages, including functional specifications and estimates for all phases of process equipment addition, replacement, or upgrade;
  • Collaborating with operations personnel and internal support groups to accomplish objectives;
  • Participating in major capital projects from start to finish, including equipment reception, commissioning, and acceptance.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical diploma;
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in mechanical design of multi-part assemblies and pneumatic control systems;
  • SolidWorks 3D experience and AutoCAD experience beneficial;
  • Previous industrial mechanical design experience, including design expertise in theory, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment;
  • Experience with mechanical design standards;
  • Background in strength of materials and material selection, including welding procedure knowledge;
  • Project team leadership or project management experience.

You will have strong communication skills, the ability to influence and resolve issues, and excellent teamwork and planning skills.

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
