Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Lab Manager to join our team at Hoya Vision Care Canada. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our lab, including managing staff, maintaining quality standards, and analyzing production data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Customer Service team to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Manage staffing levels and schedules to meet changing production demands, ensuring sufficient manpower to support production efficiency and safety.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize production efficiency, safety, and compliance with company guidelines.
- Analyze production data, including DVI, audit, breakages, and KPI reports, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Train and develop staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Manage staff concerns and issues promptly and fairly, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in production, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role in a production and/or optical environment.
- Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage staff, manage multiple priorities, and work under time constraints.
- Thorough technical knowledge of optical principles and lab processes, equipment, and maintenance.
- Intermediate MS Office Suite skills, with a focus on MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
