Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at Réseau de santé Vitalité. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for operating various medical imaging equipment, including X-ray, radiographic, and fluoroscopic machines, as well as computerized tomography (CT) scanners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and safety during medical imaging procedures.
  • Operate medical imaging equipment, including X-ray, radiographic, and fluoroscopic machines, as well as computerized tomography (CT) scanners.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Position patients correctly for medical imaging procedures.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients or biological samples.
  • Train technicians, assistants, students, or interns on medical imaging procedures.
  • Record and process results of medical imaging procedures.
  • Explain procedures and side effects of radiation to patients.
  • Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment.
  • Record and process patient data.
  • Provide appropriate care and monitoring of patients during medical imaging procedures.

Requirements:

  • Certification by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Immunization records.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
