Product Development Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Product Development team at Lumenwerx. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new light fixtures and improving existing ones.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement product design concepts from project briefs, including concept selection, design, commercialization, and production setup.
- Construct three-dimensional CAD models in Solidworks and create drawings for fabrication of mock-ups and prototypes.
- Interact with suppliers to understand manufacturing restrictions and knowledge of fabrication techniques.
- Benchmark competitive products and help define key selling points.
- Support mass manufacturing setup and perform structural calculations and simulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Expertise in Solidworks and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to think creatively and bring ideas to the table.
- Excellent organizational skills and experience in the lighting industry is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of UL safety standards is also considered a strong asset.
