Job Summary:

As a Store Operations Manager at Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix, you will play a key role in managing the human, physical, and financial resources of the store. Your focus will be on improving product flow from the backroom to the sales floor, ensuring that store objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Store Standards to optimize customer experience, drive customer traffic, and positively impact store profitability.
  • Work with the Management Team to ensure Store Standards are in effect 100% of the time, including the backroom.
  • Help manage labour scheduling and leverage Work Force Management (WFM) to maximize labour productivity.
  • Ensure staffing levels are adequate to effectively operate the business.

Human Resources:

  • Comply with Human Resources Standards.
  • Help with hiring in conjunction with the Front Store Manager, hires and/or supports hiring for all departments, excluding Pharmacy.
  • Maintain wage administration within SLPH guidelines.
  • Drive Blue Culture, engagement, and lead and motivate staff through leading by our Core Values.

  • Planning and preparation for Inventory Management.
  • Use judgement and decision-making skills to control expenses.
  • Provide effective leadership and ongoing mentorship and ensure development of all staff.
  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Able to prioritize activities quickly in response to changing initiatives.
  • Effective organization and planning skills.

Experience:

  • Previous retail management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive the business, led by example and support corporate programs.
  • Work effectively with the management team.
  • Superior interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Business and financial acumen.
  • Relationship builder with key internal and external agencies.
