Job Summary
We're seeking a Bilingual Engineering Student for our Canadian Buildings Division in Gatineau, Quebec. As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment that promotes personal and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Conducts deficiency walks to identify and address site issues.
- Coordinates and supervises sub-trade work to ensure timely completion.
- Tracks site progress and deficiencies to maintain accurate records.
- Verifies site conditions, coordinates with drawings, and conducts quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance.
- Coordinates, marks up, and updates drawings to reflect site changes.
- Coordinates work-specific scope, trades, and tracking progress photos to maintain a record of site activities.
- Conducts trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours, and rates to ensure accuracy.
- Inputs and updates deficiency logs to maintain a record of site issues.
- Performs quantity take-offs and participates in project meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Produces as-built drawings and maintains record keeping to ensure accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- Working towards a degree or diploma in a civil engineering-related field.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Eligible for Government security clearance (Basic Reliability).
- A passion for working in a construction environment.
- Experience with the application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
- Self-motivation with a hands-on approach.
- Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
