About the Role

Lantic Inc is seeking a highly skilled Packaging and Finished Products Manager to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing all activities related to packaging and finished products, ensuring the health and safety of workers, and promoting the organization's values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the physical integrity of employees by maintaining a safe working environment, providing necessary personal protective equipment, and ensuring tools are in order.
  • Apply occupational health and safety standards to protect the physical integrity of personnel.
  • Manage the collective agreement, participate in joint labor relations and health and safety committees, and negotiate collective agreements.
  • Maintain smooth operations and equipment reliability, intervene in the event of equipment breakdowns, and ensure problems are resolved.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to improve existing systems and processes.
  • Actively participate in achieving performance indicators, produce operating reports, and develop budgets for the packaging department.
  • Evaluate jobs to be carried out, plan materials required, prioritize tasks, and ensure safety standards are respected.
  • Ensure internal and external audits and customer visits run smoothly.
  • Plan staff training, if necessary.
Requirements
  • College or university training in operations management or related fields.
  • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations/food production management.
  • Good decision-making, communication, and organizational skills, with strategic, flexible, and analytical thinking.
  • Leadership, coaching skills, and ability to mobilize in line with the organization's vision.
  • Experience in managing people in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to manage change and solve problems.
  • Bilingualism (spoken and written) to communicate with our English and French sites.
