About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join the Plant Maintenance team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled carpentry work in accordance with building codes and by-laws, including construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of building structural elements, fixtures, and furniture.
  • Operate power tools such as table saws, mitre saws, routers, jointers, and sanders, as well as hand tools like hammers, screwdrivers, squares, chisels, hand saws, clamps, and planes.

Qualifications

  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Carpenter recognized by the Province of BC.
  • Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
