Job Summary:

The Central Québec School Board is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and supervise preventive and physical maintenance tasks in educational institutions or buildings.
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance work in the absence of the caretaker class II, foreman, or school principal.
  • Supervise maintenance work performed by workers and unskilled workers.
  • Ensure devices and maintenance equipment are in good condition.
  • Inspect and check lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.
  • Perform minor or temporary repairs and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Monitor security against theft or fire and supervise the comings and goings of visitors, students, and staff.
  • Prepare facilities and rooms as needed.
  • Submit materials, products, and equipment requirements for maintenance work.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of use, storage, and safe disposal of products.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in maintenance work or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. They will be required to lift heavy objects and work at heights.
