Job Summary
The Referral Clerk will play a crucial role in our Central Referral Office, responsible for processing referrals and coordinating patient care. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process referrals received at CancerCare Manitoba, compiling demographic and medical information for electronic chart creation and referral triage, assigning, and appointment scheduling.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Navigation Services team, Referral Office team, multidisciplinary care team, referring community, and patients to ensure seamless patient care.
- Utilize electronic health records to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized Health Unit Clerk course.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience preparing charts, scheduling appointments, and communicating with patient and family members in an ambulatory multi-disciplinary setting.
- Basic computer skills, including keyboarding, data entry, email, and internet use.
- Experience utilizing an electronic health record.
- Strong understanding of patient-centered care.
- Satisfactory employment record.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Oncology.
- Familiarity with CancerCare Manitoba referral process, triage concepts, and Disease Site Groups.
Estimated Salary Range
$20.513 to $23.780 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
Work Location
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Anticipated Start Date
ASAP.
Daily Hours Worked
7.75 hours per day.
