About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Chronic Disease Education Specialist to join our team at Novo Nordisk A/S. This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Calgary and Rural Alberta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering chronic disease education to healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and assessment skills, excellent time management and organizational abilities, as well as strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and rapport-building skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct educational sessions with physicians, specialists, allied health professionals, and non-healthcare professionals to ensure that chronic disease education and knowledge are based on current evidence-based practice.
  • Develop and implement chronic disease education curriculum and direct overall staff training, programs, and educational goals following chronic disease education guidelines.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor in identified areas of chronic disease education for healthcare professionals.
  • Assess opportunities for quality improvement through organization of care.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in nursing (BScN/BSN) from an accredited institution, valid and current RN licensure in the province of Alberta, and at least 5 years of clinical experience in the relevant health profession. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team in the primary care environment, facilitating relationships between multiple stakeholders, and delivering education to healthcare professionals and patients is considered an asset.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement plan.
