Landscape Labourer Job Description

At Alternative Landscape Solutions, we are seeking a skilled Landscape Labourer to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for assisting with landscape constructions, tying and securing plants, and performing various tasks related to lawn care and gardening.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including planting, pruning, and trimming trees and plants.
  • Tie and secure plants to ensure stability and safety.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain a well-manicured appearance.
  • Cut grass and maintain lawns to a high standard.
  • Rake and collect refuse, including leaves and debris.
  • Remove litter and garbage from the work site.
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials as required.
  • Lay sod or seed to create a lush, green lawn.
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the beauty of our landscapes.
  • Apply fertilizers to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Repair and maintain equipment to ensure efficient operations.
  • Write daily basic progress reports to keep management informed.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to ensure their health and well-being.
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and pruners.
  • Remove trees and other vegetation as required.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity.
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Perform repetitive tasks, including raking, pruning, and weeding.
  • Handle heavy loads, including topsoil, mulch, and other materials.
  • Work in physically demanding conditions, including extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Use manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform tasks that require precision.
  • Pay close attention to detail to ensure high-quality work.
  • Use hand-eye coordination to operate equipment and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors to ensure accurate work.
