Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at JobCart Inc. as a Food Industry Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all site and department safe practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Utilize technical skills to execute planned maintenance, address break-in work, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in the planning process to ensure the right work is completed at the right time by the right resources.
  • Execute work as scheduled by planners, including PMs, inspections, rounds, and other tasks.
  • Ensure documentation of maintenance work occurs according to Maintenance Best Practices.
  • Document all maintenance work, including scheduled work and break-in work, in the shift logbook system and work order system.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance tools to execute jobs effectively.
  • Be involved in root cause analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting in your area of responsibility.
  • Complete shift assessments to understand overall process health and document findings.
  • Work collaboratively with other technical and operational resources.
  • Interface with Maintenance Coordinator and other maintenance leaders for coaching and direction setting.
Requirements
  • Must be willing to work any shift, including night shift.
  • 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright License.
  • Previous completion of an apprenticeship is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment with multiple priorities.
  • High degree of attention to detail, precision, and follow-through.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Understanding of electrical circuitry.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, maintenance shop machinery, and electronics.
  • Knowledge of building wiring and CSA codes as it applies to an industrial establishment.
  • Reading, writing, and communication in English.
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy machinery.
  • Ability to work at heights, heat, cold, and within guidelines of Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Industrial Electrician license.
  • Minimum 3 years of local electrician experience in Canada from within a food plant manufacturing environment.
